
Mail Merging Download File With Microsoft Word

1. First, use mnileads.com to select the companies you want and download them to
your computer. For text file options, leave the default choices selected: Yes
for Field Names as First Record, Commas for the Quoted Field Delimiter. The
result will be a .TXT file (Example: MNI403062797105112.TXT).
2. To use an existing letter as a form letter, open the letter. Or, to create a
new letter, click New on the File menu, and then select a letter template.
3. On the Tools menu, click Mail Merge.
4. Click Create, and choose the type of mail merge you wish: Form Letters,
Mailing Labels or Envelopes. Then click Active Window. The active document
becomes the mail-merge main document.
5. Click Get Data, then select Open Data Source.
6. Select Text Files (*.txt) for Files of type and make sure that the Select
method checkbox is checked. Find the file you downloaded (Example:
MNI403062797105112.TXT) and double-click on it. Select Text Files (*.txt) and
click OK.
7. After Word displays a message, click Edit Main Document.
8. In the main document, type the text you want to appear in every form letter.
9. Click where you want to insert a name, address, or other information that
changes in each letter. On the Mail Merge toolbar, click Insert Merge Field, and
then click the field name that you want.
10. After you insert all of the merge fields and complete the main document,
click Mail Merge Helper on the Mail Merge toolbar.
11. Click Merge.
12. In the Merge to box, choose New Document.
To send the form letter only to selected addressees, click Query Options, and
then specify criteria for selecting the data records.
13. Click Merge.
The resulting file will contain one letter or label for each record in the file
you downloaded from mnileads.com.
